Sunday School

Sunday School for children, youth and adults begins at 9:30 am
Children

  • 3’s & 4’s, Room 129 - Little Lambs curriculum
  • 5k & 1st Grade, Rm 227; 2nd & 3rd Grade, Rm 215;  4th & 5th Grade,  Rm 226 - Grouped by grades, students in elementary school will use a curriculum that explores the week's lectionary readings.

Youth

  • Middle School and Senior High,  Rooms 222 & 221 - Join us each week for fun and relevant lessons, based on the Scriptures.

Adults

  • The Book of Revelation, 9:30 am, Multipurpose Room - The Book of Revelation is one of the most mysterious and often confusing books of the Bible. Each week, a member of our congregation will explore John's writings to gain a better understanding of its history, symbols, and visions.
  • Invest in your Marriage, 9:30 am, Dining Room - Invest in your family’s most precious asset…your marriage.  Come capture a God-sized vision for your marriage! Join us for an 8-week Sunday school class to learn more about what it means to have a biblically-rooted marriage.  This class is for those married, engaged, or considering marriage.
  • Early Morning Monthly Class, 8:30 am, Multipurpose Room- The Case for Christ, The Case for Faith, and The Case for a Creator. Meets on the following Sundays: 5/10.  The early morning monthly class will meet in the multipurpose room in April and May instead of the gym
  • The Wired Word, 9:30 am, Parlor - Participants will be met with thought-provoking, stimulating discussions over how scripture is applied to current events.

The Adult Formation Committee

The Adult Formation Committee is still struggling with whether to offer a Financial Peace Ministry or similar class this summer. A large concern is cost, in addition to difficulties with summer scheduling. For those who might be interested in the class,  please join the Adult Formation Committee this Sunday for an organizational session at 9 am in the room 9.

Come and share your thoughts on what to offer as a summer class, scheduling and costs.

New Women’s Bible Study

In seven sessions, Seamless covers the people, places, and promises of the Bible, tying them together into the greater story of scripture. Women, participating in the study, will gain an overarching understanding of the fundamental layout and meaning of God's word. Each week of study features key information that ties all of scripture together into the seamless truth of the gospel message and is accompanied by maps, gen ral Bible facts, and word studies.

Mondays, 7 pm, Parlor. Cost is $20. To register,  email Victoria Fleischer at victoriafleischer@gmail.com.

Coffee Hour Volunteers Needed

St. John's coffee hour on Sunday mornings (Volunteers for food items needed):
St. John's is pleased to host a coffee hour for parishioners of all ages to mingle on Sundays! There will be two times each Sunday morning where coffee, lemonade, water and snacks will be set out in the first floor atrium area in Heyward Hall for everyone to enjoy: 9:00-9:30am before Sunday School, and again after the 10:30 service. St. John's will provide drinks each week, and we ask that volunteers sign up to bring food items for about 100 people (multiple volunteers can share one Sunday).

Please use our sign up form below to sign up to bring food one Sunday, and we will remind you of your sign up date!

FriendShip Lunch & Learn

Most older adults prefer to age in their own homes but they might need a little help. Sometimes the loss of a spouse, physical strength, vision or hearing make tasks difficult. The FriendShip, a non-profit Columbia group, provides the help that seniors need by finding and training volunteers, locating businesses that provide honest competent service, and encouraging members to participate in social and cultural activities. The FriendShip is seeking both members and volunteers. Members can be volunteers and volunteers can be members.

Come Lunch and Learn with us on Sunday, May 3 in the Multipurpose Room, lower level of Heyward Hall, after the Reception for Teachers on the patio.
